Single women beware...
There we were watching England V America Saturday night with friends after our BBQ - the room was torn between England and America supporters so the atmosphere was taut - and it ended up a draw!
I never for one minute thought England would lose or draw. It was bizarre to watch and I've veered between cheering for either team (I have dual citizenship having moved to England when I was 15). Can’t take much more stress like that! BUT, I think many people would have found the game a bit of a snooze if they hadn't been in a room split equally between England and American supporters.
Watch out if you're single and putting your career first: in the press today Lisa Snowdon (radio and TV presenter) admits she's an SAS - successful, attractive, but single - here's my rally call to single women about the terrible pitfalls of putting off finding love until it's too late (at least too late to have babies).
There are a number of culprits for what can be a devastating situation - landing up in your late 30s without a partner, babies or marriage –
Think about it, if this is you: for instance 1/ because they think they'll have time to find a man despite an all-consuming career, 2/or because they're looking for that Mr Perfect who simply doesn't exist and in the process pass up many good men. 3/ And sometimes it's about believing they shouldn't have to give an inch to share their life and of course don't find a man who wants to be in a one-sided relationship.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I have far too many, what I consider to be sad anecdotes, from working with women in their late 30s just like Lisa who bitterly regret what they've done - making the wrong choices like putting their career as an absolute first, passing up a man who might have given them babies and marriage, etc.
So think about it now if you're in your late 20s -- you want from life!
I'm running to a conference in Kent and I'm going to be able to pop in to see my adopted English Gran - and have some lovely cakes or something.
Enjoy the sunny Monday, Pam X
