Dig deep, courage, getting steamy and broody...
Caught an interview with one of Mark Ormrod’s team last night - this is the group of amputee soldiers who’ve just crossed the USA against so many odds - despite only raising 1/10 of what they'd like to he was still pleased with the response from the public. Dig deep if you can - even a fiver would help.
Heard a bit of Radio 4 Saturday Live this morning – Fi Glover was interviewing the art student who survived a ‘Ripper’ attack 30 years ago. She spoke with such courage and yet there was still a strand of vulnerability in her voice all these years after such a horrendous attack.
Fantastic news out of Burma with the release Aung San Suu Kyi! Can you imagine what house arrest is like? Being confined, freedom removed.
The world watches and waits to see how the Burmese allowed to pan out.
So much going on so on a lighter note...yay - what fun - received the first copy of my new book Steamy Sex in the post today from my publisher. Nice to hold the finished product and flick through it - it's listed in the "books" section on my homepage.
Still recuperating so can’t join friends in Manchester seeing Die Antwoord supporting M.I.A. tonight - I mentioned them a couple months ago and was v disappointed that more of the "new music" people at Radio One didn't get behind them. They're playing London tomorrow night - think it's hard to get tix now.
A massive congrats to my pals Mark and Suz who've just had a baby William! Gaawwdd makes me broody...don't tell the hubby!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Mark e-mailed pix last night to all his friends - lovely to wake up to them this morning. I'm terrible about doing these things - haven't put any new pix up on my site for months.
But it's lovely to receive such things from friends - I recently sent some friends an e-mail, poem-thing about friendship - it lifted my day when I received it - and I hope it lifted theirs when I sent it.
It's back to when I mentioned yesterday in - the small things count!
So, as it's no going out for me this weekend, will undoubtedly watch X Factor - though to be completely honest we watch it after the fact so we can fast forward people like Mary and Wagner - don't have the "X Factor" for me!
What Katie Waissel doing being photographed in her new disguise - a black wig? If she's supposedly hiding from the public why let the public know what your disguise looks like?? I fear it's just more hype from the biggest hype-machine in Britain.
Still, it's a guilty pleasure, enjoy your weekend, Pam X
