Skiing, Oscars and falling out with your mum...
Hello there, hope you're fab and all’s good in your life. Well, I'm back from my wondrous trip to the French Alps (where we were - Les Deux Alpes - has particularly striking and wondrous mountains, the fresh air can't be beaten, in fact I've left my heart on top of an alp!). I sliced through the powder-like snow for the first time in two years. With all the operations I've had in the last couple years - after an accident - I haven't been able to pursue my passion for action sports - but finally I could get on my skis for an hour or two a day. I’d recommend Les Deux Alpes if you don't mind a smallish terrain compared to somewhere like ‘the three valleys’.
Wow, so happy The Hurt Locker won so many Oscars – sooooo deserved! Well done Kathryn Bigelow! When I first saw it I told you how gripping it was - it's staggering how she managed to create such drama - you felt you were right there with the bomb disposal experts. And Jeff Bridges winning Best actor was also fabulous. His portrayal of the alcoholic country-western singer was a Master class in multilayered levels of emotions.
Mothers’ day’s approaching on Sunday and today I've written a piece in the Express on healing any rift with your mother. This is particularly aimed at the mother-daughter relationship but could apply to mothers and sons.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: if you still have your mother I'm particularly happy for you. Mine has passed away and I miss her dreadfully - she was my best friend in the whole world. So treasure yours - and if you've fallen out with her for any reason then check out my article.
Fab to hear that Tinie Tempah’s number one this week!
Hopefully I'll get time to change over to a new "your e-mail of the day" today - but work beckons. Take care, Pam X
