Game-playing, one night stands...
‘Game playing’ is the topic of my weekly iVillage.co.uk blog. A woman got in touch worrying about a couple lads. She's wondering: who fancies her, who doesn't fancy her, are they playing with her emotions, etc.
On the whole I hate game-playing - even if, I'll come clean, in my single days I played a few (got to keep those guys on their toes!). But on the whole they can backfire and generally muck things up as this woman is finding.
On another note I mentioned one night stands yesterday because of my weekly radio slot. A woman had got in touch because she felt guilty and ashamed for having had one. She said it wasn't her normal style.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: guilt and shame are there to tell us that we've done something that goes against the way we feel in our heart. They are " bad" emotions if you don't act on them.
These are powerful emotions with a purpose - they're giving you the message that something needs to change.
In her case I recommended she do a bit of self-analysis as to why she ended up in a one night stand. After some analysis she needs to move on and let go. Every one of us makes choices that we regret but the point is to learn from them.
She learnt that a one night stand didn't make her feel good about herself. That's an important "life lesson". And we all need to pay attention to those lessons!
Not surprised the Manic Street Preachers new album has shot to number one - it's fantastic -check it out.
Enjoy the sunshine - evidently it's going soon, Pam X
