Body language for you, gagging orders, good old-fashioned love triangles...
Back to proper work today but in between meetings I'm doing an interview on what to expect from William's and Kate's body language on their big day with the lovely Tom Dunne at Dublin's News talk radio.
It should be good, not only is Tom a lovely relaxed interviewer but always manages to get to the heart of the topic being discussed... if you're interested in non-verbal communication listen in on the net after 10:30 a.m.
As political journalist Andrew Marr ‘fesses up about the super injunction he had to gag reporting of his affair from eight years ago you might think no marriage is safe. After all he comes across as a geeky intellectual - a reminder even geeky intellectuals are human and make mistakes. His gagging order was common knowledge amongst media circles - it was bound to come out so he probably decided to out himself.
My view? People who promote themselves as ‘family men and women’- and make a lucrative living off this image - and then get gags covering up their affairs should be outed. But what of someone like Andrew Marr? Having heard he wrote an article criticising privacy laws then it seems a bit rich he tried to protect himself. No, he's never promoted himself as a 'family man' but how can he interview politicians about their private lives when covering up his own? Very dodgy territory.
Have a fun event tonight with Freeview - again, all about the body language of the royal couple. I'll be revealing some key signs and signals to watch out for on the day.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: you may not be aware of how much you pick up on people's body language - usuallly we do so subconsciously. But sometimes we can make a wrong judgement - and there can be all sorts of reasons why.
Various issues can complicate body language signals - in my own case after a major accident a few years ago - and multiple operations on my shoulders - they can look a bit stiff - people might assume I'm unapproachable or a bit uptight because of this stiffness - and they'd be judging me wrong!
Body language is an important part of communication but beware of things that affect it.
I'm running an episode behind - haven't seen last night's - but thank God Kat in Eastenders is finally accepting baby Tommy ... the most infuriating, and sometimes badly written storyline ever... bring back the old Eastenders where it was all about affairs and love triangles!
Happy Tuesday, Pamx
