From romance to tragedy...
It's Valentines on Sunday but don't panic if you haven't got anything or are on a tight budget. Because the best possible gift you can give your partner/boyfriend/girlfriend would be lashings of affection, attention, love and a heartfelt message in a simple card.
And - as the Valentines cynics say - of course you should be showing them love and respect all year round but it's nice to have an extra special day to plan some little surprises for each other. I'm not a Valentine’s cynic but I am cynical about people feeling they have to spend £100 on red roses whose prices are grossly inflated at this time of year
We're going to celebrate Saturday night - going to a romantic candlelit restaurant - because that way we can stay out as late as we want (who knows I might even get Hubby out clubbing) because there’s Sunday morning for a Valentine’s breakfast in bed.
Some romance to tragedy - it's awful when someone commits suicide as Alexander McQueen the fashion designer has. Having spoken to people who have come near to killing themselves but have survived or decided not to harm themselves at the last minute , they all say the same thing - that they were in the darkest of places and didn't think things could get better. But when they survived and realised there were some good things around them, they were so thankful it wasn't a success.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: if you are in a very dark place please reach out to someone, even the Samaritans who are an excellent organisation. Things will get better no matter how bleak they are right now. You can find something good to cling on to ask you start to take control of the issues in your life. Honestly, things will get better if you've hit rock bottom.
On a very light note, my three-minute item will be on Dancing on Ice on ITV tonight at 8.00 pm. Hey, that’ll make you laugh!
So I hope you have a peaceful, loving, happy weekend, love, Pam X
