From the worst hangover ever, to fabulous fathers, to feckless fathers....
Happy Dad's Day to all the fabulous fathers out there! I think fathers have a challenging role nowadays - versatility is the name of the game - so much is expected from you. Rise to the challenge!
Don't go see Hangover 2 or you’ll lose two years of your life you can never go back....it really is the worst hangover ever! Talk about a terrible follow-up film! Loved the first - very bad taste but very funny - this sad and sorry follow-up scraped the bottom of the barrel.
Very excited about the summer special programmes I'm presenting on BBC Radio ‘Western regions’ from July 3rd for 4 weekends - the producer and I are already brainstorming things to discuss. It'll be fun and challenging.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Hope you're showing your father some love today. Spoil him and make a fuss - so many fathers don't receive much attention - give him yours today.
And if you're a deadbeat dad who has let their kids down, doesn't visit them when you say you will, doesn't pay your share of their bills, treats the mother of your children badly, etc., then shame on you! I completely agree with David Cameron's article in a Sunday paper today that deadbeat dads should be treated like drink drivers – ‘outed’ and shamed. There’s never an excuse!
I hope today you'll find it in your heart to change your ways. The charity I work for Kids in the Middle is all about parents remembering how much their children can suffer. In my work I hear of so many sad stories of deadbeat dads.
Yes, of course not all mums are shining paragons of virtue but on the whole there seems to be more fathers behaving badly when the relationship breaks-up - too easy for some to shut off from their children’s needs.
Okay, rant over!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Pamx
