You think your time on the Internet is innocent??
If you're struggling with spending too much time on the Internet - and your life is beginning to feel empty and I hope you'll take a look at my feature in today's Mail about this very issue. I wrote it off the back of some recent research showing that the longer you spend on the net the more likely you are to become depressed. And that certainly if you're already depressed, spending loads of time in this solitary pursuit will make things worse.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I have met some supersmart and savvy women - and men - in my work who end up in a terrible state because night after night they're glued to their laptop. So what I'd like you to think about is to be aware that this can be a slippery slope. If you find yourself getting a bit fretful and anxious because you haven't had your "net time" - that's the very first warning sign!
I think the best way to prevent this getting out of control is to time-limit yourself on the net - and set those boundaries tightly. And every time you go on the net you should also make sure you have some "human contact time" - on the phone or face to face - to balance it.
Loving Marina and the Diamonds but finding out that she's only 20 when she’s got the voice of a 30-year-old was a bit weird. I can’t believe how mature her voice sounds!
And judging by the way my voice is going I'll sound pretty horrible, and still full of cold, in my guest spot on Daning on Ice tomorrow night! I know a lucky person going to the Brits next week (would love to people watch there!) and we were discussing our guilty pleasure - JLS - and I'm hoping they make it as best British breakthrough act, but I'd be happy with La Roux too.
Hope you're well, Pam X
