Love on the Internet, getting the happy habit...
I hope you're not feeling despondent that you're back to work for today. Try and focus on the best part of your job and if you’re unhappy at work start looking at evening classes in an area you're interested in... no excuses, believe in yourself to find something you're really interested in.
Had a fab chat with Sue on BBC radio Cambridge last night - we talked about loads of issues that stop us being happy and even touched on Internet dating. As long as you don't believe everything people say about themselves on their dating profiles, and you take good personal safety measures when meeting up with someone, you've got a good chance of success.
Three of my best friends found true love on the Internet - and loads of people who get in touch with me have told me all sorts of "happy ending" stories.
Glad to see that Paul McKenna is talking about "make happiness a habit" in one of the papers today - it confirms my research into happiness for my book How to be a Happy Human (on my homepage) and what I've been saying for years that people should get the "happy habit" - and it's nice that others have come to that conclusion.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: How do you make happiness a habit? A couple tips include if you wake up with someone by your side (because you're part of a couple and not because you've picked up some random stranger for a one night stand!) give them a little squeeze, ask them how they slept, and be thankful for your love.
As you get ready for work don't be daunted but instead get strength from thinking about three good things you have in your life. Then walk out the door with a smile on your face, a positive thought that something good will happen to you today and willingness to show kindness to others.
As one celeb leaves rehab - Lindsay Lohan - and another one enters - David Arquette - I wish them, and anyone struggling with such issues, all the best in the world. It takes courage to recognise you need help. I hope you have someone supporting you all the way - and make Eminem's tune Not Afraid your anthem.
Finally watched Inception - you have to pay attention as there are dreams within dreams going on - with all the confusion dreams contain. I thought it was an exceptional concept brought down by one 'level' of dreams where James Bond style gunman ski around a snowy ski resort shooting each other - no finesse or imagination.
The problem is the film kept dipping in and out of the different dream levels so we kept seeing these James Bond type images.
Inception was also marred by the fact you have no emotional investment in the 'target' of the 'idea inception' - the son of a dying business mogul (played by the late Pete Postlethwaite) - I just didn't care about the son's 'story'.
Listening to the JLS album that someone gave me for Christmas - I love the boys and they have some great tunes but some are sadly run of the mill.
Get out there and have a great day, Pam X
