A walk in the park...not!
The other day I was having a conversation with a friend of mine who’s expecting her first baby - and worried about the pain of labour - about trying hypnotism to alleviate her fears. How timely that in the paper today there’s a report on how hypnotism can ease the pain of labour.
If you're expecting definitely check it out – any method to help you through the birth process is worth finding out about. And I hope your labour goes better than mine - will never forget them! Don't want to put the fear of God up you, but they weren't a walk in the park.
Oh dear, more celebrity break-ups - following fast on the heels of Lenny Henry and Dawn French is the news that comic film star Jim Carey and Jenny McCarthy are splitting. One of my best pals and I both have long-term secret crushes on Jim Carey - she's single right now so I'm sure she'd be happy to ‘give him a shoulder’.
But that brings me to a report out today about how long it takes to get divorced - on average 17 months and 26 days. If you’re splitting from your husband or wife - and that statistic fills you full of horror, then start thinking now how you can make that process a better one - if divorce can ever be "better"!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: it's time to dig deep for any reserve of goodwill you've got for your soon-to-be ex -and try and make the grueling and painful process go as smoothly as possible - particularly if you've got children involved. But if you can take it one day at a time, and not start thinking you've gotten months and months of this divorce process to go through, it might just take some of the bitter sting out. Believe me, I've been there when I divorced my first husband and it's not a walk in the park… I think walking in the park is on my mind today!
Well, it's beautiful out so enjoy the sunshine. After back-to-back meetings I'm meeting a friend in town for drinks tonight (well, a lady’s got to have the chance to show off her tan - even if it's only an insipid pale beige tone in my case) but I know I won't find any Mojitos like the ones in Cuba. Cheers, Pam x
