More radio joy and with a sister like that...
Radio interviews continue and last night I ended up speaking to Petrie Hoskins on LBC - this was off the back of David Cameron's manifesto to make Britain a more caring society - as it should be. But to be a success it means starting small and everyone doing some little thing that's kind to another person. Then we might start getting a ripple effect into our communities.
Sticking with politics for a moment I was disappointed when This Morning Television rang to see if I could do a body language analysis of the three party leaders this Friday morning. Would love to have done it but I'm already involved in a radio project Friday morning - I'm sure This Morning will find another body language expert to do it.
In a moment I'm speaking to the lovely Simon Lederman presenting BBC Three Counties radio breakfast show this morning. Not only does he have a gorgeous voice that he's a clever man. Then after 10 AM I'm speaking to David Reeves who is presenting at BBC radio Humberside. Feel like I'm popping all over the country promoting my new book - all from the comfort of my office - and speaking to many different radio personalities!
I've been working on a piece about friendships and I think our friendships have become even more important now that families are so fractured and we’re all under such stress.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I consider myself incredibly lucky to have some lifelong friends and friends from university days. The only problem? Sometimes work keeps us too busy to see each other as much as we'd like. One of my best pals at least always sends me funny things by e-mail when we don't have the time to chat. Including this the other day:
A few children's books that didn't make the cut:
1. You Are Different and That's Bad
2. The Boy Who Died From Eating All His Vegetables
3. Dad's New Wife Robert
4. Fun four-letter Words to Know and Share
5. Hammers, Screwdrivers and Scissors: An I-Can-Do-It Book
6. The Kids' Guide to Hitchhiking
7. Curious George and the High-Voltage Fence
8. All Cats Go to Hell
9. The Little Sissy Who Snitched
10. Some Kittens Can Fly
11. The Pop-Up Book of Human Anatomy
12. Whining, Kicking and Crying to Get Your Way
13. Pop! Goes The Hamster... And Other Great Microwave Games
14. Eggs, Toilet Paper, and Your School
15. Places Where Mommy and Daddy Hide Neat Things
Today on my iVillage.co.uk blog I advise a woman whose sister is a super-flirt and who flirts with her boyfriends. Her sister has come between her and boyfriends previously and is trying to do so now. But with sisters like that who needs enemies?! I hope you're not in that position, but if you are, check it out!
Lovin Example's new track 'Kick Start' - hear on Zane Lowe's show last night!
After a long day I'll be heading out to see an old friend for a drink or two - that'll be a happy moment!
Enjoy your Wednesday, Pam X
