Going back for seconds, feelings of friend-envy, snooping where you shouldn't....
Chatting to Mike Parr at BBC radio Tees and Humberside at 1030 this morning - the topic's about going back to an ex partner or a job - have lots of advice if you're thinking of going back.
Looking forward to doing an interview on Talk Radio Europe at 1240 this lunch time with their presenter Hannah Murray - she and I always have lively chats. We're going to discuss this whole thing about why some women get upset when their best friend falls in love. If this resonates with you please do join us online.
Here's an interesting one - ever looked through a new partner’s [or maybe an existing partner’s] things and found something that troubles you? Yup, you shouldn't have gone looking without permission!
I tackle this on my weekly iVillage UK blog - goes live later today - a woman's been dating a much older man - and having spent their first weekend together she was packing their stuff and discovered some Viagra pills in one of his bags. Now she doesn't know what to do... don't snoop!
TODAY’S TIP: of course we're curious about a new partner's private things but that doesn't give us permission to nose around in their stuff. You might discover something completely innocent that doesn't look that way.
Then you're stuck - how do you ask them about what you found?!
As with this woman's particular dilemma I figure if there's a way of coming clean then do it. You could say something like, when I was packing our things Viagra pills fell out of your bag.
And if you don't have an easy way into it like being responsible for the packing? Either you suffer in silence [not a very nice place to be] or you come clean – ‘fess up that you were looking where you shouldn't have and now you want to talk about something you found.
Be prepared for fireworks on their part - hopefully they'll calm down, extract a promise from you to never snoop again, and be open about you found. Good luck with it!
Did I recommend Spector to you? What You Wanted - what a tune!
Our chat on Let's Talk Sex last night [Sky channel 275] roamed from the Marquis de Sade to Liz Hurley...you don't get those two in the same conversation very often!
Take care, Pam x
