to interfere or not....
To the weather gods: Please don't let this summer be a washout like a lot of last summer!!
Despite the wet grey weather outside my office window and looking forward to my weekly agony slot on Dublin Newstalk radio at 10 a.m. The producers given me the heads up that we have some really good dilemmas to tackle. These include a man who’s worried about his brother and his wife - they're very young, drug-taking parents of three young children. What does he do? How can you make sure his nieces and nephew are safe?
It's always a challenge to decide when you should step into another person's life with advice. Because quite frankly I'm often of the view you shouldn't stick your oar in - and I hate it when people butt into my personal life! But the dilemma of, to interfere or not, isn't so daunting when young children's well-being is at stake and I'll be advising how he can make a difference to those children's lives.
It's one of those days - meetings stacking up after the radio, but then I'm grabbing time with an old pal to have a drink in Soho this evening. Later on seeing a comedy recording for Radio Four with the Hubby… so a fun end to a busy day.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: if there's one thing I always say about a hard day's work -- make sure you get out at the end of it, chat with friends when it's done, get a hug from a loved one (hubby’s good for that one!), go out for some comedy, take a walk, whatever helps you relax said if he tossed off the stress of the day.
Loving the track As We Enter (Nas/Damian Marley)… reminds me of the music one of the bands, one of my children was in, played.
Take care and ignore the rain, Pam X
