The mysteries of astrology, TV-withdrawals, bitchy female bosses...
I like to consider myself an open-minded sceptic so I said Yes when asked to do an interview on My Spirit Radio - Ana Isabel's programme ‘Lightways.’ The thing is Ana (the presenter) is such an immensely likeable woman that it's impossible not to enjoy speaking to her even if the world of astrology is like a foreign language to me.
It's gone live on the My Spirit radio website - if you're into astrology you might understand the point she makes.
I'm going to go through withdrawals when Boardwalk Empire finishes in a couple weeks - I'm a massive Steve Buscemi fan but the whole cast is superb and it's about the only programme where the hubby notices I don't fidget.
I'm the first to admit I’m an annoying fidget if a show hasn't grabbed me. Though Silk is another I'm good at sitting through.
Are you a woman with a female boss? Check out the research into why female bosses are bad news for women that’s just been published in the Journal Social Science Research ... it's true they can be bitchy and tougher on other women and seem to stick like glue to the guys at the top once they've got to the top themselves.
I'm incredibly lucky that right now I'm my own boss as a life coach and agony aunt and I write for some exceptional women at newspapers and websites. BUT I know from first-hand experience they can be tougher on other women.
Won't name names but a decade or so ago I had some terrible female bosses and during that time I'd choose a male boss over a female boss any day!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: one ploy that worked for me when I had one particularly difficult female boss was a bit of flattery... asking where she got her bag or shoes - trying to get her on light-hearted subjects like fashion seemed to hack through her ice queen exterior.
Have a go if your female boss is a pain - try a few ploys including the one that worked (a bit) for me - good luck!
Seeing Keira Knightley pictured looking loved-up with one of the Klaxons (she has excellent taste in music!) should give anyone hope if they’ve come out of a relationship - there's life after a breakup.
On Radio 4 this morning a guest was trying to explain how they're going to protect the future of our banks - unfortunately he didn't speak with much confidence. That didn't fill me with much confidence about his solutions to ring-fence basic banking practices from the "Casino" high stake banking practices.
Oh please get it right so next time around we mere mortals can’t be ruined by the greed and arrogance of the highflying minority!
The sunshine I going to slip away today - enjoy it while it lasts! Pam x
