Smells like chocolate chips and trouble with the Internet...
I've been baking up a storm because our friends are coming to dinner tonight - the house smells like double chocolate chip cookies – can’t beat that aroma! Have been busily working on a nice marinade for the chicken (free range of course - although sometimes I find free range is tougher than the usual stuff) and then we've got the pesto to make. Although that's probably best made just before they arrive.
Loving the Goldfrapp remix I just heard - something to cook by!
I've written a big piece for a national newspaper (that I think is coming out Monday) about women getting addicted to the Internet. And having just written this feature a friend confided in me yesterday that she has this very problem. She's been on the net far too much and feels that it’s overtaking her life. Maybe she'll do a Lily Allen and dump technology altogether - though I don't know if Lily stuck by that promise.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: if you or a loved one have more of a "net-life", then a real-life, it's time to step in and try and sort it out. Believe me, this can take over your life entirely. I've known people who have pretty much destroyed their social and working life because of it. When you start feeling withdrawal symptoms from your technology-of-choice that's when you know you're in trouble. Take a step back into the real world with more face-to-face at least phone communication then depending on the net.
Nothing short of furious about the three Labour MPs (that's 'money pinchers' because they pinch our taxpayers' money!) potentially hiding behind an age old law of Parliament so that they're not properly prosecuted. The cheek of it is unbelievable - why can't they be men and face what they've done - ripping us off!
Have a lovely weekend, love, Pam X p.s. I promised the new interactive part of my site is coming very very soon - probably Monday!
