You don't get off lightly at my Thanksgiving dinner...
Last night we rolled away from Thanksgiving dinner bloated and feeling like stuffed turkeys. Bar the slightly overcooked turkey (my fault!) it was a wonderful dinner topped off by everyone around the table saying ‘thanks’ for the people in their lives. You don't get off lightly if you come to mine for Thanksgiving - everyone has to share their ‘thanks’ - even if some pals start off mortified by the idea (What? Say something soppy and meaningful - in public?? I can see this thought etched in their faces) they all join in the spirit - I crack my whip!
We then saw Adam Sandler in Funny People - a good film in terms of picking apart his complicated character - from the good in it through to the bad. And that's how every human is with our good and bad points. With an excellent supporting cast Funny People only fell down on being 30 minutes too long. The laziness of editors today sometimes is astounding - many of the scenes repeatedly set up the same aspect of his character - as well as the supporting actors’ characters. Far too much repetition!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: When the annoying, bad, stressful, or unhappy things happen I'm going to revisit (in my mind) the wonderful feeling we all had at Thanksgiving dinner. Despite my training I can get stressed like any other person, so it's important I try not to let the difficult things get in the way of seeing the good things. You can try that too - when someone's upset you or life has become a bit "trying", remind yourself of the good in other parts of your life.
Today I've got a quiz in The Express newspaper for meddling parents - parents who get over involved in their grown-up children's lives. We all want to know what’s going on with them but it’s about setting boundaries – eek - I've got to watch that myself!
Despite the rain sweeping the country have a lovely day, Pamx
