Furious with the news...
After a fab night out in Soho with friends, hubby and I scraped in at midnight and I turned on Radio 4 just in time for the news and I was furious to hear a seven minute report on Tiger Woods headlining the news - and being treated as more important news, over and above our losses in Afghanistan this week and the latest recession news.
What's the news in a sportsman not being able to keep his trousers on? How long has this story being in the news - about three months! How this could have led a R4 news broadcast is beyond me. Yes, of course it's a story were chatting about in features to programme on radio - as I did on a mid-morning show Friday morning, but not a story for headlining the R4 news when we've lost young soldiers in Afghanistan this week. If I'd been one of those families suffering such a grave loss I'd be spitting teeth. Phew, that rant felt great!
I've decided I'm going through a pop-tastic phase - at Profile, where we had drinks first before dinner, last night there were some fantastic club sounds and I'm loving things like Timbaland and Katy Perry, and One Republic right now. I'm sure I've recommended Profile's cocktails before - tasty!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: it's a beautiful sunny day out there but sadly we're not taking full advantage of it as we had to get up early for a bunch of household things including sorting out a shelf in our kitchen that collapsed yesterday - we came to find broken pottery spewed across the kitchen floor. But the one thing that makes me happy is our two cats sitting out enjoying the sunshine looking absolutely adorable. And of course the other thing is that hubby and I are going to be doing these chores together. More fun to work with someone on these boring but necessary chores. And we'll be listening to some music while we work, so it's not all bad.
Have a lovely weekend, Pam X
