I did NOT poison anyone and no selfishness today...
Well, I didn't poison anyone on Saturday night with my chillie - thank goodness! But it was one of those extraordinary dishes where you take a bite and then about 20 seconds later it explodes in your mouth… needless to say we each went through a gallon of water during dinner.
Sunday it was off to the exciting experience that is Homebase! We needed paint for one of the bedrooms and tiles for one of the bathrooms. Woohoo, you can’t say I don't know how to live!
Actually a bit of DIY can be quite satisfying and we got painting yesterday afternoon. Something about the repetition of the strokes that eases away stress.
Looking forward to speaking to Liz Rhodes after 10 AM - she presents the mid-morning show on BBC radio Cumbria. She's interviewing me about some of the Happiness Principles in my new book How to be a Happy Human - looking forward to it because if I can say one thing, that one listener takes on board, and helps to make their day a bit happier, then I'll be a happy human!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: we all get wrapped up in our own needs - I know I do particularly when I'm working hard - just think if today everyone did one little thing for someone else? We're all guilty of forgetting how important it is to think of others some of the time. I know people bang on about this being the selfish generation but quite frankly I think it is. And it definitely makes the world a meaner, harsh place.
If you're interested in finding out about the "blame game" and how it relates to any unhappiness you feel, then please check out my article on iVillage.co.uk.
Definitely want to see the Italian Renaissance drawings at the British Museum - must nab a friend to get there - eek, the question is when - I've got so many deadlines.
Happy Monday, love, Pam X
