What a load of moaners...
We've been accused of becoming a nation of moaners - from Victor Meldrew to Jack Dee, from Basil Fawlty to Ricky Gervais we adore characters and comics with a rather grey outlook… hmmm, funny how all male examples spring to mind… could it be we women moan less?
Obama's getting flak for not getting on top of bullying Stateside - particularly homophobic bullying. I loathe bullying - there's little worse than making someone miserable for no reason at all. I know plenty of people who’ve been bullied and it’s a subject close to my heart.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: check your own behaviour - sometimes you can bully without even realising it. For instance, Emily got in touch with me recently because her boss teased her in front of colleagues about minor mistakes. She felt awful and hurt about it - mainly because he never did it to anyone else.
When she finally confronted him it turned out he thought it was "harmless teasing" - he was mortified he’d made her feel so bad.
Some people take the view that what doesn't ‘kill’ you makes you stronger. Well, er, that's fine for them if they want to be picked on, but it's the lamest excuse I've ever heard for bullying behavior.
Caught a little of Zane Lowe last night on Radio1 my way out and his masterpiece session with the White Stripes Elephant album - classic!
Just writing my weekly iVillage.co.uk blog -It's from a woman who wants to spice things up - but at the same time doesn't want to upset her rather sensitive boyfriend. Bedroom boredom, eh? Far too common. Have loads of tips for her in my new book Steamy Sex - see my home page for details.
Making time in my diary to have a quick lunch with a gal-pal - may even meet at the Westfield Centre - shock-horror so far I've managed to avoid the place.
Happy Tuesday, Pam X
