Couples who are in a bad competition, those three little words...
Got Band of Horses on right now - good tunes to start the day with.
If you happen to be a couple who tries to score points over which one of you is more stressed take a look at my 'couples quiz' in today's Sun newspaper - recent research shows just how stressed we still are - despite most of us knowing how to much stress is bad for us!
Increasingly couples are competing over who has the hardest, longest, most stressful day. That's really bad (bad competition equals a bad romance!) when the one person you should feel like a ‘team’ with you're actually pulling against over stress.
Eek, I might’ve been guilty of it myself on occasion with the hubby! At those times you've got to remind yourself that you’re a team together rather than two competing individuals.
V excited as have just booked to go to Cape Verde in a few weeks - if you've been and have any tips for what to see then please send them to "your e-mail of the week" - cheers! I've just posted a new e-mailSamantha is having difficult times with a married man from - no surprises there. Check out my advice by clicking on the "Gold Star" on my homepage.
As a general rule if you're thinking of getting involved with a married man or woman my advice is don't until they leave their partner.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I was speaking to someone last night about her relationship with her live-in boyfriend and one thing that struck me is that neither of them can ever admit when they’re wrong.
Why is it we find it so hard to say sorry? I know I mentioned this fairly recently in another context but it's a theme that keeps coming up over and over again.
Why don't you apologise - is it about losing face? Or feeling less of a person because you're in the wrong? Fear they're going to ‘rub it in’ when you admit that you're sorry?
The one thing I learned a fair time ago (despite all my other faults I haven't learnt about yet!) was never to be frightened of saying sorry when you're wrong. I actually think you feel better!
Try it, you might like it!
Caught up on Eastenders last night - for a moment I thought Ronnie was going to ‘fess up to Kat and Alfie. I thought, crikey, those scriptwriters have worked fast to put right this dreadful storyline. Then the classic drumbeat started and I knew this storyline was continuing.
Sarah Palin only has to open her mouth to sound ignorant and ill-informed. She may be the 'pin-up' for the Right-wing in American politics but she doesn't have one percent of the natural 'smarts' that the average beauty queen - at least they always want to "help the world" rather than make it a more divided place as Palin wants to.
With the terrible flooding in Brisbane it puts in sharp focus the extremely fine balance of the world's weather system - another reminder to switch off lights, PCs, phone chargers, etc., to save every little bit of precious energy.
It's Thursday - hope you're planning something lovely or relaxing for the weekend, Pam X
