Role models, horrified, it's a complete soap opera, you can beat the bullies...
Victoria Beckham's self control is frightening - pictured out with fourth child daughter Harper, she hasn't put on an ounce! I hope women won't feel she's a role model to strive for!
Downton Abbey got completely ridiculous - a complete soap opera - last night with Matthew flying out of his wheelchair at the speed of lightning in his previously paralyzed limbs. Then Lord Grantham causing a housemaid to swoon by giving her a full on snog, Sybil run away with the the chauffeur and other twists and turns.
At X Factor the wonderful Sophie was voted out - so sad about that - when she is given the right song she had a stunning voice and just because she's not eccentric like some of the others she's been kind of passed over. Not surprised about the ratings as we can't be bothered towards the main show anymore - only the Sunday night catch up. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I've been in die hard X Factor fan over the years.
I'm the only person who seemed to like Alexander Burke [maybe Kelly should get back here!]. I quite liked the randomness of her comments and despite stepping into the telly equivalent of a war zone she came out confidently. She desperately wanted to make a difference.
As one boy band member proves he can leave The Risk and be immediately replaced by another - sadly it reflects how interchangeable these guys are.
It's horrible to hear that Jesy - one member of the girl band Little Mix - has been the victim of Internet bullying. Where does all this anger and hatred come from? Why do people want to actively hurt rather than give criticism that's constructive or justified and not directed at someone's looks. Don't like someone's voice? Fair enough. But when you stray onto things like someone's weight/looks it just seems cruel.
Other big news was controversial Kitty managed to keep her backside in her hot pants! And when not distracted by her impossibly short bikini bottoms on a family show you actually notice how great her voice is.
TODAY’S TIP: If you're being bullied like Jesy from the X Factor please don't suffer in silence. You don't have to take it, you can get help, it may take time, but it's worth sticking up for yourself.
Yes, we all have to the occasional bad remark but bullying's more than one bad remark.
If you're young you may feel it's easier to confide in a teacher, if you're being bullied at work and my first confide in friends and then go to HR. But sadly if you let it go on - it goes on.
I'm sending strength to everyone being bullied out there - it's happened to a family member of mine so I know how horrid it is.
Focus today on your own inner strengths and qualities and how sad and insecure the bullies are even if they appear to be strong - they're not - they're weak!
Horrified at the thought of caesareans on demand for women without medical issues - of course labour isn't a walk in the park - I know from having my children. But think of the cost - and all the truly ill people waiting for necessary cancer ops, hip replacements, etc., that'll have to wait longer when selfish women demand costly caesareans.
It's Halloween and I'm prepared with loads more treats for children that come by tonight - some came last night - missed out on a party last night a friend was having outside of London. Wanted to go but with an early start this morning thought I needed to give it a miss... well, that's my excuse... hadn't actually sorted out a costume!
Happy Monday, Pam x
