Agony 'aunting', amazing cancer drug, unbelievable adultery, worst ever video theme...
Looking forward to being a guest again on The Vanessa Show, Channel 5 this afternoon... always fun - Vanessa is a savvy and smart presenter.
And tonight I get to spend time with one of my favourite BBC radio presenters – Sue Marchant for my regular agony aunt slot where we tackle relationship issues, human dilemmas, sometimes even dream analysis. It's from 815 and you can get in touch with your question/dilemma at BBC radio Cambridge and the other East Anglian regions.
All-in-all a fun day (if I don't count my many meetings this morning).
On to medical advancements - incredibly heartening to read of a new super-drug – Vemurafenib that targets the activity of rogue gene mutation. Left unchecked mutation leads to an explosion of cancer cells. Hailed as the biggest cancer breakthrough in 30 years, here's hoping it's approved quickly! I know of too many peoples' lives ravaged by cancer.
Over to fresh allegations that Ryan Giggs had an eight-year affair with his sister-in-law - unbelievable - how can his wife and his brother stomach and survive such revelations if proved true? That's scraping the bottom of the barrel of infidelity.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to allude to rape and then the rapist being shot in Rhianna's Man Down video?! I meant to mention this last week but forgot... is this the worst ever pop video theme? I'm appalled she’d use this scenario to sell her records. I'm a massive Rhianna fan but she's absolutely wrong on this one.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: rumour is they've done this for the publicity - but Rhianna doesn't need any more publicity - she has a massive international profile. No, this just wasn't thought out - but having met and spoken with many victims of rape and sexual assault I know this is not a crime you treat in this manner.
If you’re a victim of rape or sexual assault I hope you'll get help from any local rape- or victim-support service. Please don't suffer in silence. Wishing you strength and courage.
The sun's disappeared and you might long for its return but thank god we've some rain - the farmers desperately need it particularly in the South East.
Take care of yourself, Pam x
