Body image, recycled gifts, bad parenting choices and bad cooking...
I'm looking forward to being a guest on Sue Marchant's BBC radio Cambridge show tonight after 8:15 PM...we're talking about a specific area of unhappiness - and how to get happier.
Ha ha, I just realised I received a "recycled" Christmas present from a friend - they didn't realise that the person who had given it to them had signed the bottom of their gift in small letters - so they wrapped it up and gave it to me.
You know what? I think it's quite funny as I've done it myself before - received something very nice but that didn't suit me - and after thinking about who it might suit I've given it to them. Better than letting a good gift go to waste. But there’s some sort of gift recycling karma going on here!
Oh Elton and David why are you sticking your precious little son away in the flat next door to your Los Angeles home?? Why are you fueling so many people's beliefs that you shouldn't have adopted anyway?
How would you feel growing up in a flat next door in your parents? Sorry guys, common sense says it's just a bad idea - a really bad parenting choice. It's not too late to rethink this physical and emotional distance you’re putting between yourselves and your son from day one. I'm hoping you change this.
if you've just got engaged over Christmas and New Year's check out "hot off the press" on my homepage - I've posted an article on how to have a happy engagement - believe me, despite the romance of getting engaged you have many hurdles in front of you!
I didn't poison my friends last night but I did cook the worst ever slow roast pork chops last night. They were tough as old boots. I kept apologising but they kept insisting they weren’t tough - that's good pals for you! At least the roast spuds were perfect - it was the hubby that cooked those.
Are you fretting your life away worried about your weight or body shape? I commented today in the Mail newspaper about a survey that showed how many of us have a distorted body image.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Start seeing yourself today has more than your size, shape and weight! The more you focus on yourself as a whole person, the better you begin to feel, and then you treat yourself better by eating well.
Can’t wait to see Prof Brian Cox is Stargazing TV series start tonight - I once met him backstage briefly at a comedy thing and he's as kind and friendly as he looks.
So disappointed in the Black Eyed Peas’ The Beginning album - only a few really good tracks on it - the rest is pretty much cr..
Enjoy your bank holiday, Pam X
