Go Obama! And a mix of feeling excited and gloomy...
Go Obama - you push those health care initiatives through! The American system of healthcare simply doesn't work for many millions of people. He's a courageous man and I only wish we had someone like Obama when our elections for Prime Minister Minister come around.
Feeling a cross between excited (for the opportunity one of my children has) and gloomy today as I'm about to drop them at Heathrow - they're the sort of person you miss when they're not around because they're so thoughtful and fun to be with. But I'm not going on about that! And they'll have an amazing time - part of a mum's job to get behind a child's plans. It's weird when our emotions are so mixed - we're pulled between to opposite feelings - part of the complexities of being human.
At 11 a.m. I'm doing my slot on Dublin Newstalk radio so if you have a dilemma then why not e-mail or text - or listen in on the net. My slot is usually 10 a.m. but as I'm off to the airport we changed it to 11 today. The producer has told me we've got some really interesting dilemmas to discuss today including a woman who's met her fiance's father for the first time - and he's a bit of a pig of a man!
Watched my favourite drama of the moment ITV's Married, Single, Other late last night after our sendoff dinner for our child. There wasn't a dry eye in the house - well, the Hubster had a dry eye - but we girlies didn't. So sad that one character has died of a brain tumour on her wedding day - yes, I know it sounds very 'soap opera-esque' but it was very well done.
Loving MGMT - so I'm recommending them - check them out on the Net. Also just heard a tune that’s so summery feeling - reminds me of driving down the highway in an open top car, wind blowing through your hair. It’s This Orient by the Foals.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: sometimes when it's grey and damp outside - like yesterday - I force myself to visualise a sunny day without a care in the world. Works a treat - you should try it!
It was fab speaking to Simon Logan on BBC radio Newcastle yesterday - a gregarious and yet thoughtful sounding presenter. Evidently he's playing more of my interview this afternoon.
This is brief today as I have wall-to-wall meetings but do check out Carrie's dilemma in "your e-mail of the week" - love to know your thoughts on that!
Hugs, Pam X
