From friendship to more, honesty is usually the best etc...
Have you tried to turn a friendship into a romance?
Probably the better question is -
who hasn't tried at some point to turn a friendship into a romance?? It's cropped up in my weekly iVillage.co.uk blog.
This couple started as friends and have now got to the point of going to bed together but it is very awkward indeed! Check it out if you're in this situation - it goes live later today.
These things are always complicated by feeling awkward about discussing them. Reminds me of Ben in EastEnders who won't tell his father feel about being gay... It's only led to disaster after disaster. Honesty is almost always the best policy.
TODAY’S TIP: which brings me back to the ‘falling for a friend’ situation - the worst thing you risk by being honest by your feelings is that they're a little bit uncomfortable at first.
But usually people are flattered when they find out a friend harbours desire for them.
And of course the best result is finding out they feel the same way about you.
The tip is how you start the conversation - don't make it a big, heavy, overwhelming conversation! Keep it chilled, be confident, and give them that feeling that whatever they say is okay.
So whether they say they feel the same way, or don't feel the same way and want to stay as friends, it's going to be okay with you.
Good luck, nothing ventured nothing gained!
Managed to grab a lovely lunch friends on the roof terrace the Century club yesterday - complete bliss with the sunshine! Where's it gone today? Pam x
