The war of the stand ups and pals...
Interesting reading about the stand-up comedians V Cheggars (Keith Chegwin) spat going on in the press today. As the hubby works partly in the world of comedy I'd heard all about this brewing.
Evidently Cheggars has been accused of pinching other comedians jokes. Including one from the phenomenally talented Milton Jones. I adore Milton's stand-up because he can do a whole set without any swearing or sex.
Not that I have anything against comedians swearing (I, on occasion, swear like a trooper) - some of the best have potty mouths. But it makes a change to hear some innocent humour.
If you don't know Milton's work then he's slightly along the lines of Tim Vine - quickfire witticisms and wordplay. He also makes use of physical comedy through his whimsical facial expressions.
Looking forward to a friend’s barbecue tomorrow - although the grey clouds outside my office window suggest she might be crowding as indoors. Haven't seen these friends for a year and it's amazing how a year can fly by. They have the most gorgeous little boy - always makes me broody for more!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: it's nice to know you can pick up the thread on a friendship. Funny how that can be awkward with some people - but with others you don't see them for many months, or even a year, and it's just as relaxed as the last time you saw them.
As I think I might have said before, if there's someone you'd like to re-contact, you may as well go for it, even if nothing comes of it. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" is one of my fave sayings!
Eek, I got tied up yesty and never posted a new "your e-mail of the week" - have just put a new one up - click on the 'gold star' on my homepage to see why Chloe must dump the new man in her life.
Work's calling - have a happy Friday and great weekend, Pam X
