Tragic, don't rush into divorce, the grass probably isn't greener...
All this speculation about Maddie McCann having been taken to the States after her abduction must be incredibly tough on her family yet they're undoubtedly glad there's so much attention about her case. It’d be so amazing if someone recognised the computer-enhanced picture of how she'd look today so she could be very reunited with her family. We can only hope this and other such tragic cases are solved.
Good to see that divorce is on the decline. Hopefully not because people can’t afford to separate because of the recession, but that people are making an active decision to work at their marriages. Many give up far too soon.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: the grass isn't necessarily greener out there! In my work I come across many who desperately regret having given up on a relationship that, with hindsight, was pretty good after all.
There’s a whole lot of loneliness out there and it gives people a long time to realise what they threw away. Don't become one of those sad statistics - unless of course we're talking about abuse when you need to get out.
The one piece of advice I'd offer if your relationship is going through a rocky patch? Step back and think about what YOU could do to make it better. Even if you blame your partner for all your troubles everyone should work at being a better partner. Playing the blame game is rarely the solution.
Finally caught up on Eastenders...grrr, when are they going to get Ronnie to ‘fess up over the horrible baby-swap storyline?!
It's sooo grey out it had to be Biffy work to this morning. It's Friday and I hope you've got some plans for the weekend - catching up with lots of pals this weekend and cooking for some on Sunday night... have decided on lamb with a herb crust. You might think you can’t go wrong with that but you don't know my cooking! Happy Friday, Pam X
