A snowy disaster yet it's beautiful out...nothing will stop me!
Have started my Countdown to seeing the Kings of Leon Tuesday night - I don't care if there are 20 foot Snow drifts around the O2 Arena NOTHING is stopping me!!
A disastrous and snowy trip down to near Tunbridge Wells in Kent yesty with the snow and ice meaning I could only spend 40 minutes with my 'adopted' gran who lives there before having to make a very slow way back to Charing Cross. So disappointing! I'm sure there are millions of others having their plans ruined.
Got back for a black tie ‘do’ to get to in central London last night. Lots of people couldn't get to the event last night - very disappointing...was almost a case of 'all dressed up and noone to party with'.
And tonight we were having people over to dinner – yup, was going to do my usual ‘trying to poison my guests routine with my pretty p*** poor cooking’. Both couples have cancelled because they can’t get to us.
At least it's a beautiful winter wonderland outside the window. Have had quite a kerfuffle getting the tree up that didn't look lopsided when we braved the snow and got it at the shop this morning...er, it's definitely listing like the leaning Tower of Pisa.
Couldn't believe the report in one of today's paper about Matt Cardle and the PR machine from X Factor allegedly hyping up the story about his parents taking in the motherless boys. I should be more cynical -- why can’t I believe it? There are millions of ££s at stake so it's really no surprise they might embellish this tale.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: it goes back to that thing of never believing everything you read in the papers. I got it wrong once reporting about someone in the press and apologised to them. People have got it wrong about me and I've had some apologies. It happens all the time. But the knee-jerk reaction is to believe what is there in black and white.
It's the same with the rest of life - often things aren't as they appear to be. I have one friend who’s really struggled in the recession and yet she manages to hold her head high and carry on like business as usual.
I've got to admire her guts - quite rightly she doesn't think it's anyone else's business - but those close to her - how hard she's been hit.
So if for any reason in your the subject of headlines, gossip, misunderstanding try and set the record straight where you can and ignore when you can’t.
Loved the FutureHeads’ Chrismas Was Better in the 1980s which I caught on XFM - my new favourite Christmas song. Keep safe and warm this weekend, love, Pamx
