Anxious body language, just not funny, love and anger...
Some interesting body language in the parliamentary proceedings yesterday. Whenever James Murdoch was asked about his ‘top execs’ his vocal pace and style altered. He definitely felt anxiety at these points - but over what? Could well be anxiety about not knowing fully what they knew about this convoluted story - and if he doesn't have the full facts of course there's going to be anxiety.
Mrs Murdoch responded instinctively when the ‘demonstrator’ (more of an attention seeker) threw the foam pie at Rupert - jumping up and trying to slap him - one dedicated wife - I'd do exactly the same if someone lunged for my hubby! It's a natural instinct to protect the person you love.
This is going to run on and on - seems to touch so many people in the police and Parliament.
Had some ‘light’ relief watching Show Me The Funny (recorded Monday night)... actually some of the most cringeworthy moments from a stand-up I've ever seen - the Latin Lothario was worse than un-funny - he was stomach turning! The old-timers on New Tricks got four times the audience.

It's been lovely presenting the Saturday and Sunday night shows for these four weekends. One topic on the agenda is anger management issues – oh dear, holding my hands up to a bit of a fiery temper but it’s pretty well managed!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Maybe you're struggling with anger issues? I usually find it’s one of two things - either you've always been like that - you didn't learn boundaries on your emotions as a child.
OR 24/7 stress has got the better of you - so many people I know who wouldn't have anger issues, have them because of the way we live - always "switched on", never relaxing.
My first tip is to take technology out of your life at least a couple times a day - give yourself a break from your laptop and mobile or 20 minutes at a time - excessive use really stresses out your mind.
Oh, and another tip is to listen to the Noah and the Whale album - Last night on Earth - definitely a non-prescription de-stresser!
Great to hear from Kevin and Liz that they're running the Haven Hospital in Harlow - they've managed to get clothing for the homeless from a major department store. Just shows what individuals can do to help society.
And that's a happy note to end on so happy Wednesday, Pam X
