From the ridiculous to the tragic...
Crikey, can't these footballers keep out of the press?? There are allegations swirling around about David Beckham, and for once, I don't believe them… some of the other footballers in the press recently are a different story.
Once bitten, twice shy - years ago when there were the Rebecca Loos allegations (whatever happened to her?) he seemed truly contrite. This woman's allegations sound ridiculous...still it can't be nice to have them in every newspaper across the globe.
On a serious note: How tragic to read the unfolding story of the suicide pact strangers -Joanne Lee and Steve Lumb. How lonely and desperate do you have to be to search suicide sites on the net. It should never have to be like that for any person in my heart goes out to their families.
I've spoken to many people in my work who have been suicidal in the past, or even made a failed attempt (some of which were ‘cries for help’), and one consistent theme is: they always had better days after their attempts or darkest days of depression. They found that they could climb out of their pit of despair.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Whether you commit suicide by impulse or planning like these two desperate and sad people did - you take away the chance for things getting better. If you're feeling that desperate please contact the Samaritans or tell someone you're feeling that way.
One of my friends once confided to me that she had felt suicidal - about 10 years back - and now she couldn't be happier or more content person. She has a loving family, good friends and a job she likes. There is hope for you!
Loving the new track from the Mumford & Sons album, White Blank Page, it's haunting and sad, that beautiful. Sometimes listening to music like that, when you're sad, can make you feel connected to others. You realise the person who wrote the music had experienced sadness. But, you know yourself, if sad music makes you feel even worse then definitely don't listen to it.
Must dash to meetings but I'm posting a new "your e-mail of the week" later on. Take a look, it might be yours.
Love, Pam X
